Conundrums Come in PAIRS
Thinking of the fruit I was putting in my salad:
"Oh, there's two spellings--I wanted the other one, "pares" I said.
Connie jumped in with "No, three," just as I realized, "Wait, of course, pears is the one I want."
All pronounced the same way--but leading in different directions.
Conundrums come in pairs . . . and in ways one can't pare down.
